Old lady a couple houses down sets up lunch pretty much everyday while the farmers are working. Just stop in when you get a chance. Typical is whats in the pic for a couple bucks. Think she makes more than the farmers with less work..... Heading there myself now.

Outstanding! How can she do that for a couple of bucks? Here, 10 bucks at least.

Is that actually WarSteiner in the glass, and what is in the casing/links ? Good stuff, like all things fine in moderation! I enjoy similar goods, made with venison made by an old school butcher shop/pork store, their venison frankfurters are excellent, same with sausage and pepperoni, great for outside cooking on the grill, while playing horseshoes and some quality beer. It's nice to have a place that offers some quality and will prepare meat for you.

There was a large amount of developement around Olympia, Washington (mainly houses) in the '60's, so lots of workmen in the area. An older lady saw an opportunity, and opened a very modest restaurant where she served "lunch". Open about 11 to 2. No menu, she just made something, and you took it or left it. She was an excellent cook, and stayed away from things that guys wouldn't like. It was usually stew, spaghetti, beef stroganoff, etc., with some side dishes. Set price every day, and you paid extra if you wanted seconds. No waitress, she did it all herself. If you'd finished eating and were just BS-ing, and there were guys waiting in line, you were asked to wind it up.

Went there a couple times with my dad- looked like a good business- it was always full. I think she called it "Mom's Kitchen", or some such, and she enforced respectable language and behaviour, just like Mom would.

I've heard all beer is served and enjoyed at room
temperature over there. True? I'm asking cause your mug
and bottle look kinda sweaty.

I'm still American and gotta have my beer cold............ Guest house beer is served at 3 degrees celcius and weissen (the thick yeasty beer) at 8 degrees celcius. O lot of the people just set there beer racks in the basement and drink at that temperature..
