Guess I wasn't suppose to brush hog today

Well went out this after noon to do a bit of brush hogging. Got one small deer plot done and was going on the the next when the tractor died. No big deal it needed more gas. It is a D-17 A/C. Went to start it back up and the battery was to dead to spin it over and get it to start. So went and took a battery off one of the others tractors and got it started. Went about half way around the area on the first pass and the PTO U-Joint went out. So drove it to the shop to see if I had parts on hand. Well none so then get ready to go to the house so I can do what I need to go to town for parts and the right rear tire is flat on the tractor. Oh well did get the U-joint installed just been one of two many of them days

must have been on wedensday late i was clipping pasture when i hit a rock and then caught a fence post with the sickle bar.
i broke a bolt holding bar in place bent the sickle and broke pitman stick.

oh a my 333 won"t start it has some kind of electrical problem swith or battery cables i"m not sure which

No mater what 'religious convictions' people do or don't have, to me, Sundays are cursed! I never 'start' a project, just poke around and accidently acomplish something- if lucky. Like today, I cleaned and chased the threads on some nuts and bolts, sat on a milk crate and played with honing some cylinders, nothing more techincal than that... just in case...
That's too bad, D17's are awesome tractors, except the power adjust rims. if I ever get orange fever again, that model is a must have

Heck no, no cuss words but I did when I was in town buy a case of beer since I knew by the time I gave up for the day I would be hurting a good bit and I still didn't get all of it fixed yet

Typical day in rural America, right?

Had one of those on Friday at the barn where I work part-time. Needed to get a tire replaced on a water wagon. Welded a washer on the rusted out section where the valve stem goes. Tire guy wouldn't mount it, said rim was too scaly and still had "see-through" spots. Ended up buying a new rim, will clean up the old one and use as a spare. Then, someone said the tractor was stuck halfway out of the barn with the manure spreader attached. Steering went out on it. Blocking aisle in the barn and driveway outside. That took the rest of the day to disassemble it, call on parts (way too $$$$), disconnect spreader, hook up to another tractor, drag broken tractor (with no steering) out of the way. Worked into the evening to "jerry-rig" the steering as there was a horse show this weekend and they needed the tractor. Never did get to working on the roof of the new addition to the barn as I had planned.
