It was a good day.

The K & O Steam & Gas Engine club had "Kids Day" today. A lot of work but a lot of fun. This is 10 year old Shelby. She is riding/driving a tractor for the first time. She is one of over two hundred kids that drove my Moline U today.

The second picture is 12 year old Eric (in the green hat). He took over the rope making machine. He was certain he could do it, he only made a few mistakes and was really good with the kids.

200 kids drove your tractor?

My dad had a fit when one kid (me) drove his tractor!

Good sport!

Looks like fun and I am glad to see this kind of outreach happening. maybe out of the 200, just one of them will take up an interest and might be the next to enjoy our second hand tractors. Sounds like a good time. Glad for all involved!

Looks similar to what we do at Farmamerica www.farmamerica.org where we have school tours each spring and fall. Schools come to learn of various time lines in agriculture, (early settlers, the beginning of farm mechanization, modern agriculture) and the aspects of farm life during each of those time periods. I volunteer there as much as I can.
