Turbo 400 tranny update

Allan you were right, got that tranny out last Friday and apart today, no high gear or reverse. It was the direct clutch, the snap ring had popped out of the groove so the clutch couldn't engage. I have never seen that one before, the piston overextended and cut the seals and ruined the cap that holds the return springs. Had used parts to fix er back up and used a different snap ring. I have no idea what caused that to happen and will it do it again?? worked perfect for two years, I guess we will see--

Hey! Glad ya found 'er Mike.

Don't know why those silly things will pop off like that.

Always suspected a rounded, worn snap ring or someone just flat didn't get it down in the grove completely.

Anyway, all's well that ends well, 'eh? :>)

Some snap rings look like they are stamped out & have one edge rounded & the other is square. Make sure it is installed so the pressure is on the square side.
