O/T - Gate hinges

I have a gate that I go through (on a tractor to keep it related) that is one of those galvanized 5 slat type gates (with a V behind the slats). I got the gate second hand and it doesn't have any hinges and it is a royal pain to have to pick it up and swing it out of my way. Any idea where I might be able to find them?

I checked Tractor Supplies website and couldn't find them. Next time I go I will take a look.

i think the hinges youre talking about are stamped steel and form fit to V in slat...i havent seen them anywhere in 30 years...i picked up a bunch of those gates clearing up a old ranch...wound up jamming some pipe in the opening and drilling them for screws...them welded some heavy wall pipe on the end for the screw type post pins...lag bolt screwed in over one of the hinges keeps cows from lifting gate off pins.
 
I have never seen those stamped hinges sold separate from the gates. Course I haven"t seen it all.
I"d go to the local farm store that carries those gates and see if they might get you some on special order. You might also try googling the manuafcturers name and try contacting them directly. Otherwise you"ll have to make up something
 
you mite call or go by that farm supply and ask for hinges to fit...i saw the hinges for the pipe gates online but the stamped hinges may not be a big enuff seller to put on website...they could be special order also...good luck
 
Around here, they are called "lifetime" gates.

Nothing could be further from the truth, if livestock are around them. Not much to 'em.
 
I buy the 90 degree lag bolt hinge part. I make my own pipe gates and weld a 2 inch piece of pipe that fits the hinge pins.
 
Ya I agree with you there. They make a good snowfence. Can't get the gate open because of the drift behind it. Jim
