Not a tractor but they had these going big in the 1960's/70's Now there is a couple new brands out. Any of you use them do they have any pratical farm use? One local fellow said to rough and slow to be atv and not usefull for farm work. Also heard they are very unsafe if used as a boat.

We had an amphi-cat, and I`ve been around argos, and niether of them impressed me. Not much for pulling, not enough traction, rough riding, and not a good boat. The only advantage I see over a 4 wheeler is being able to carry more junk, but the newer UTVs have that all taken care of.

I had one many years ago. Mine wasn't very slow but it shook your teeth out when riding in it. It would go thru alot of mud and snow but worked better when you had the tracks on it. I used it in our beaver pond and it was fairly stable but don't plan on going anywhere fast in the water. Would I buy another one NO WAY. Stick with an ATV or UTV

I have had a few MAXII 6 wheelers ,,MAX and Argo are the only two made these days I know of , both companies have been around for many years . Pros they go ANYWHERE , they float , they haul alot , multi passenger depending on make and model , you can get tracks for them . Most simple motors . Cons ..they ride rough , no suspension ,they just rely on low air pressure . Llow ground clearance , you will need tracks for deep snow . They lack pulling power , as they declutch one side to turn . Not very fast ,15 or so top speed, unless one of the older 2 stroke 440 ones ,,then hang on buddy !! They fly ! Will get air on jumps and pull wheelies . website "Route 6x6" has more info and classified section .

I have a mint Max, camo top, chrome roll bar, snow plow, winch. 55 hours on it. Would sell it for 1/2 of retail.

we have a argo 8 wheeler I agree with what every one said but what I have done is mounted a sprayer on the back to spray fence lines so i can even go in wet areas. Also a box made with wire to pickup calves in early spring. It has its uses but to buy new they are close to 20000.00 now new .when we bought ours it was 9000.00.

sweet !!! I had cherry one like that ,minus plow and top, built custom rack and roll bar . Worked great for ice fishing where ride wasn't an issue

Don't know anything about them nor have I ever seen one in person but someone just put one in the photo adds. It's listed as an Allis Chalmers Terra Tiger. I know as much about Allis's as I do about these 6 wheel things but I sure didn't know AC made anything like that. Interesting to look at though.

The 2009 and later Argo use an improved variable transmission instead of just applying brakes to turn.
Built by Ontario Drive and Gear between Kitchener and Stratford.
The Argo seats four or six. Not going to win a race against a four wheeler on flat ground. Then again a four wheeler seats only 1-2 and floats upside down.
Always wanted one since I was a kid.
