DIFFERENT APPLECIATION OF NURSING HOME.

It has been three months since I joined ny wife in the nursing home. I miss seeing the cattle, my dogs and seeing the every day farm stuff. I enjoy being wih my wife. I had always tried to take care of mysrlf physicallyRegular doctor appointrmentsevery 60 days. Well here is different. Nurses watch you health all of the time. Large medical Doctors clinic and Regional hospital about three blocks away. Most of the residents use these Doctors. The doctors make calls here at the home. The result is excellent healh care. My doctor ask son if I wanted to mak appointments to come to his office.Son answer "Why shoud I load him up when you are going to be at the home?" These nurses really keep an eye on you. Found out I had diabitis I had been to the doctor about a week before I went in. My feet were bothering due yo my gout that I new I had Mention it to nurse she said "The foot doctor will be here tomorrow, since you now have dibetis better have him check it." Had a in grown toe nail. Do not have to look after medicine. they bring it to you. We call the the drug pushers. remeber those shoes you could hardly tie they will tie them. They have therapist to walk you. Ifyou need help it is close by. sure has not improve my typing ability.

I'll bet that they even let you sleep at night. I was in the hospital for two days a few weeks back, and 7:00 Am seemed like mid afternoon after being awake all night. They have to check you all out it seemed like every hour. But then after they pulled the catheter and I had to try to go every 15 mins. I couldn't raise any of them so I had to get up on my own. They didn't seem to appreciate that. Sounds like you have a real good crew there.

Your appreciation of nursing home care is, indeed, different...this appreciation of the caring help you are getting must show thru to the staff, and, to some of them, it is a joy to care for folks like you.

Working in a Nursing Home environment is hard physical work, usually includes weekends, half the Holidays, and to some, very little compensation.

Your appreciation of your care does not go unnoticed....you and your wife are probably a direct reflection of the good care you are being given, and are probably becoming some of the "favorites" in the facility.
