What I have learned in 43 years is that Christmas presents for wives should never have any electric cord connections....kitchen appliances just don't cut it!

my friend gave his wife a vacuum cleaner, she left it plugged in and stretch out in the path he takes to get to his desk, and he tripped over it in the dark

For Christmas, Birthdays or any time that involves presents.....take them shopping, if that's what they like to do, they pick it out, they try it on, if its broke, doesn't fit, they find it cheaper a day later, has to be returned, doesn't match their lipstick.... then they take the heat.

Now, my neighbor did buy a 45k JD skiploader.... most all automatic... let his wife drive it (on their hobby farm). Now she has 'green and yellow' fever. As a gift, [u:5d85fa3719]anything[/u:5d85fa3719] JD related is good!

My wife's birthday is today. Went out to dinner last night, then went to play the one-armed bandits in Hershey PA. She came out 100 ahead and i lost 20 bucks.

My first and second wife both have always gotten their own presents. I have this real cool deal. I work and provide the money for their needs/wants. They provide a loving, caring home. So far it has worked out fine for us.

Its kind of like cordless power tools for us guys. They make cordless power tools for just about everything. Except with women, they have been making cordless power tools for personal and not so personal use for decades.

Unless the wife asks for that appliance.
My wife really asked me for a vacuum cleaner 3 years ago. (So I bought her the exact vacuum she wanted)

I by my wife bags of dirt realy backs from the gem mines in Wyomingand NorthCarolina she loves rocks and spends hours washing and sorting looking for treasures

Nothing says "I love you, Honey" like a heavy duty vacuum cleaner and a kitchen mixer, except perhaps a frilly French maid's apron.

I found the secret to buying the wife the perfect gift a long time ago. I take her to the store and let her pick out her own.

Thanks for telling me NOW. That's what she asked for. Should I take the stuff back and look for something that she DOES'T want?

After flubbing badly several times with gifts my wife didn't like at all, my usual gift to my wife is a bunch of money that she is to spend on herself, however she wants. I don't even have to go with her, which in my opinion is a lot better deal for me. I really don't like to shop at the stores she likes.

99% of the time, we get along great.

Remote start for her car(if she would clean her stuff out of the garage she could park in the heat)

I got my wife a B&N Nook Tablet. It has a cord, but she specifically requested it.

She's given up on being surprised by my gift choices. Erm, make that UNPLEASANTLY surprised...

She's a great, very patient gal. 9 years, two kids, and counting

I think there is one already, if it came out you think unemployment is bad now, the medical profession would go belly up......

I got my wife a B&N Nook Tablet. .....

I got a Kindle this year for mine. Made sure she wanted it. Am very leery about gifts for my wife. One year, she (and my daughters) thought the Stihl loggers helmet I got her was the worst gift I every gave her. Even topped the popcorn bowl and frying pan I bought one time.

If she says clothes, I "sub-contract" that job to my daughter now. I tried but found out it was a BIG problem when I bought something too big. ("So you think I'm a Size 14????").
