Tow strap on the window mullion, that has to be to keep it from going over, not for towing, well at least there is a tractor involved !
 
That last picture is a classic- only thing better would have been having the back of the tractor in the same shot.

What was Plan B, after they pulled all the window frames out?
 
Why didn't they just put the towstrap around the rear axle and springclamp on the left side where it was readily accessible and pull the thing up and out on the road? Looks like a Chinese firedrill!
 
Just hook the tow strap/chain to the left side of the rear axle and pull the van backward, Vector analysis helps understand the forces involved.
