solar panels????? 6, 12, or ???? Volt?

Hey folks,
Ever seen these little digital signs on the side of the road that shows how fast you're going??? I just drove by the reutilization yard (kind of a recycle point) and there were several ready to be scrapped/sold... They have a solar panel about 1ft x 2ft.... Any idea if they are 12 volt? Or is the volts determined by something other than the panel itself??? I could put them to good use if I could get them to charge 12 volt batteries, just gotta figure it out so I can put in a bid for them......

If there's a solar panel, there's a battery most likely.

Any chance you could call them and ask what kind of batteries are in them?

I did, was told that they can't give any info other than the generic item description.... It was 20 minutes before quitin time on a government job so didn't really expect anything else.... Boss of the place is a buddy of mine but I try not to step on toes unless they need it. Try again next week and call the boss if I have to....... I gotta be slick about it and catch folks in a good mood so I can get the high bid without spending a fortune (sealed bids)
