Want to know what sections you have to know from the IL CDL study book to get a class A. I think its sction 2, cargo,and air brakes is that all or is there more?

If you are a first timer, you'd do well to check out some of your area community colleges and take their "truck driver" classes. You might even get to do some actual driving.

My Class A renewals have been kinda/sorta like renewing a regular drivers license...signs, color vision test, etc.

I was able to switch from a "regular Class A" to the COMMERCIAL DRIVERS LICENSE by having it "grandfathered" when the CDL program first came out many years ago.

Must be different rules for different states .
Pa only requires that your employer sends/ gives you a paper to file application verifying you had actively drove similar vehicle
in the last two years. no other testing unless it was for Hazmat. other than your 2 year physical.

Drug tests were on the lottery system.
