05 dodge 2500 parking brake

My experience is if the brake won t hold you need to repair the rear brakes first and then look at the parking brake. The parking brake will not need adjusting if the rear brakes are right. (ASE certified)

Drum brakes? There is a wheel of some sort in there, or at least used to be, that can get frozen up and keep them from ratcheting up. The park brake adjusts the shoes up against the drum. How often do you use it? Might be able to bring it into adjustment just by setting and releasing it a bunch of times.

Worked on them several times, just as soon as you fix it, someone will leave it on again.

They are disks for service brakes with a little drum brake inside the disk "hat". It has a regular star wheel for adjusting up, they are not self adjusting. Taking a standard brake adjusting tool and cut it in half (leaf springs in the way.)

This last time I added a switch to the parking brake peddle and a large easily seen red light by the radio with a big sticker that says "PARK BRAKE"
