Anybody got some neat old farm pics of tractors or any fieldwork pics from the 50's thru the 80's they want to share with the rest of us? Frigid winter day here and looking for something to make me feel a little warmer. Thx

How about this one from 1945, baling hay, that ought to warm you up !

RobG,

I really like that low flat bed trailer. I have a cobbled-up old hay wagon that is built on a cobbled-up old running gear that was at least partially a horse-drawn wagon at one time. The deck is almost 3 feet off the ground. It's a real pain to stack hay bales from the ground by myself.

Someday, when my ship comes in, I'm going to buy a decent hay wagon. (I've been saying that for about 12 years now.) Where's that ship?

Thanks to you and oldrooster for the neat pics.

Your "Vespa" Italian scooter. I remember then when I was young. We had them and Cushman brand scooters to choose from. I wanted a Cushman Eagle with a passion. My mother wouldn't let me have one. Real sorrow for me.

Great pictures and I know those times together has bonded your family for life.

Great pictures. I helped a friend put up about a hundred square bales last summer. It s hard to remember the warmth of the sun as it s 17 outside now.......

it was an allstate,I think sears sold them, but I bought it used, worked in the summers here in nj, my father did a lot of new lawns in the house developements that were sprouting all arouund in the 60s ,He had a york rake and a jd 2010 and me and my brother used to hand rake,he would seed ,then we would shake mulch hay out, I worked and saved one whole summer and bought the scooter for 85 dollars, It was a great machine, three speeds, the shift was on the handlebar, you pulled in the clutch and twisted the handlebar on the right to shift, I sure wish I still had that scooter,

But think how much closer that high wagon gets you to the hay loft door when it is time to unload. LOL

Holy cow Larry that makes you same age as me! You had me fooled. It's been a long time since I could do anything bent over, let alone move any amount of weight in that position.
Are you working any concrete in all this unusually mild weather?
I have two floors I'd like poured(both under cover) and can't seem to get them done. Not enough of a challenge I guess!
