I had a chipper truck dump body for sale on CL. For a few $ dollars more they could have truck(bad engine). Fellow from Ohio calls says he wants it. I told him to come on I'll hold it. Three days later He shows up we roll the truck up on his trailer. It is too heavy and too tall for his trailer roll it back off. It was almost dark and he wanted to see the Ocean anyway. Gave Them directions to the edge of America told them we will meet back here at day light.
Next morning we cut the chassis behind the cab rolled the rest of it back on his trailer then took the rear axle out and put the tires in the dump bed. Tied her down and sent them on there way.
I was impressed they were hard working fellows and not afraid to get dirty. They were a little sensitive about Yankee jokes but all around good guys. That was quite a ride from the upper part of Ohio to Charleston SC and back. They said it was nothing to them, they spent lots of hours behind the wheel plowing snow. I didn't tell them but I didn't even know you could raise a crop in snow that would even need plowing.

I had a guy once that came from Orlando Florida to upstate New York to pick up $34 worth of ruff cut lumber that I sold on Ebay.

There are some folks up here who don't need to raise a crop after plowing. They have made all the money they're going to make just doing the plowing, and leave!

There were times years ago when I would take the tractor and blade and push back snow on the north side of a woods, so we could turn the potato planter on the headland while planting. Mid-Michigan.

Awwww, rusted, you didn't have to mention grits. It makes my mouth water for the good .... no, GREAT grits my little landlady used to fix in the big house, down in Isle of Wight County in VA., many many years ago. Nothing like 'em.

I was born and raised near Hillsboro, Ohio. Left there in 1967. I agree some of them folks don't have a sense of humor. It took me a few years to lighten up. LOL

We traveled from central OK. to south west of Billings. Mt.,2000+ miles to haul a Tumblebug plow home. Truck got about 11 M P G! This was 10 yrs. ago & we thought gas was high then.LOl. clint
