4030 6vdc to 12vdc

Want to change over a 4030 6 volt to 12v. Do i just have to install 2 12v batteries in parralel and thats it(plus remove 6v series cables) or is there other items that need changing.

4030's are 12V. If you have 2- 12's, Both positive posts have to go to the solenoid, and both negative posts have to go to ground. With 2-6 v's, one positive post will be to the solenoid, the negative of that battery will go to the positive post of the second battery, and the negative of the second battery will go to ground.

I second what donjr stated except it's best to take both ground(negative) cables to the engine block or better yet starter mounting bolts.
