Recently bought my great grandfathers 41 A, I was wondering if they ever put amber lights on the rear?

No, John Deere never used amber lights.. Those were fog lights of that day and time and somebody has stuck it on there in place of the regular, white bulb type lamp.

I can t remember if our A had a Red light or not, I know the 70 did.(one tail light, two bulbs in it, one white, one red)

We had a 47 A and the only light on rear was mounted on battery box and was just a regular light had same lens as head lights.

Every old tractor I've had had only a red, or a clear, or both on the back- I think amber is a fairly recent idea, with the advent of the 4 way flasher.
