Oooh...I think it is a UFO. Let's all put on our tinfoil hats and get the conspiracy theories going! I'm sure the AF had that 747 shadowed the whole way...but I like the UFO idea more!

passed right over my office (just outside of Dulles) at tree top level this morning- stupid me didn't get the phone out for a picture. Needless to say, traffic throughout the area was at a halt

It passed over the house we were working on in Annandale around 10:15. Had a chase plane with it to keep the bad guys away.

Saw that sight several years ago from my office window when the piggybacked shuttle made a stopover at Barksdale on a California/Florida run. It passed right over a giant American flag on our bank tower...if I'd only had a camera.

A more unforgettable sight though was a few years ago when the shuttle made a rare night return from orbit. It crossed west to east south of my house. It streaked the sky with a bright orange plume, like a giant contrail, except I knew there was no engine involved. I learned later that it was a "plasma" trail. Still don't understand that.

The shuttle came across my night sky at about a 30 degree angle, just above the tree tops. Looked like it was just a few miles away. Later learned it was 600 miles off the Louisiana coast over the Gulf of Mexico. Newsman reported ten minutes later that it had landed in Florida. It was truckin'.

A giant -sickening step backwards. Everything in the news reminds me of the 'planet of the apes' movies. The orangatans will tell the gorillas to roll this one in an old subway tunnel.... we will soon be told humans never really ventured into space....

Saw one of them fly over my house one afternoon when it was being moved to Fort Campbell due to bad weather in Florida. The local paper said it was coming in. I was putting up a windmill tower and happened to look up and there it was.
