Friend called me yesterday evening and said he ran his Kabota B1600 I think is what he has but any how ran it out of fuel, yep it is a diesel. It is the small basically and over size riding lawn mower size machine rated at 16HP. But any how how to to get the air out of the system once that has been done??? Ya he is going to bring it to me to fix his mess up.
Thanks

I have a little B5200 I've had since 1987 and have run it out of diesel quite a few times. It's a little hard to start the first time but I've never had to do anything mechanical to get it running.

Not a kubota but I've ran my old tractor out of fuel plenty of times.. Was able to get it started all but once with just cranking and patience. Once we had to put some air pressure in the tank and was gonna crack the lines while cranking but it started... Always sputtered a couple minutes before smoothing out and going fine. Maybe you'll luck out and have a little primer pump on the IP....

It's probably a B6100.

The fuel is gravity flow to the pump but, aside from that, you would bleed it just like most other diesels.

I would change the fuel filter as well as it's likely that it has never been changed.

Think you mean B6100, they were about 16 horse and are really more like a downsized fram tractor. A 3 cylinder machine.
I think they have hand pump for for priming. Otherwise do what you do with any diesel that runs out of fuel without a priming pump--lossen the injector fuel line.

Did that to a B7100, the fuel filter bowl was empty, so opened that and got it to refill - gravity flow.

Then a lot of cranking and it took off - typical disel deal. PRbably shoulda cracked open a line on the engine, but it got itse;f going.

Hi old--worked on a 1600 a few weeks ago--2 cyl diesel, 16hp. this one had an electric fuel pump. cycle ignition switch on & off a few times with rubber line that feeds injector pump slightly loose, til no air bubbles--tighten. loosen both lines @ injectors, open throttle @ crank engine til fuel spurts good. tighten lines, close throttle & start. also, this is a glo-plug engine & there is one spot on ign. switch that activates--light on dash tells how long--they HAVE to work--good luck

Old I have two skid steer loaders with Kabota motors in them. Both of them have a valve on the return line at the back of the cylinder head. You open the valve and then prime the fuel pump. This valve lets the air out of the top of the injectors. Then just crank the engine over and it will start pretty quick. I never have had to loosen the injection lines.

My employee has run my Kubota M4900 out of fuel several times over the yrs. I just bleed fuel to inj pump and fire it up. I've never loosened an inj line.
