rare tractor?

has anyone heard of a 1946 Ellinwood Bear Cat 3000-1 garden tractor? it was the first tractor tested after WWII at Nebraska, test#379.a friend is restoring one and needs to know the correct colors. thanks in advance, chuck

Dad's was dark green with red wheels, but I don't know if that was original. I just remember it being on the junk pile when I was a kid. Dad put the engine on another tractor.

If you don't see anything you may want to contact
the museum directly. They may have something in
their files. But fair warning. A LOT of their stuff
is stored in boxes and unless they get more funding
to help sort it out it's just going to sit there.

I never saw one of these tractors but I have a book that shows one in black and white so can't even help with the color.They were made by Ellinwood Industries Farm Equipment. The model 3000-1 was equipped with a single clyinder Lauson engine. Ellinwood also made The Tiger Cat tractor later on. There commpany was in Los Angeles,Calfi. Hope this interest you.
