Ran across a Vicon CM240 3 point mount disc mower at a price I couldn"t refuse. Manual says that it weights about 850 lbs and requires a minimum of 45 hp. It"s 8" wide. Only tractor I have to put it on is a 2002 John Deere 5320 (rated at 62 hp) In the process of checkng the mower over so haven"t mounted it yet. I generally see this size of disc mower on a 80+hp tractor. I"m not worried about the hp to turn run the mower, I don"t have to mow 8" tall hay nor do I have to have blazing fast ground speed. My concern is...is the 5320 a heavy enough tractor in frame strength and actual weight to handle this mower? I will keep the loader on it to help and it"s got two sets of rear wheel weights on it. What"s your thoughts?

I pull my 8 foot Vicon disc mower with an International 464 diesel. It is about 40 drawbar or 45 pto horsepower. It handles the mower with ease. I cut coastal bermuda between 16 and 24 inches tall. I run in 3rd or 4th gear low (4-5 mph).
