Hello I'm 16 and looking to start out farming 50 acres. We used to farm 700 acres at one time but 10 years ago my grandpa got sick and we sold the equipment. We kept the 560 diesel international but sold everything else. Now I'm rounding up some equiment. I have a 4 bottom 14inch plow,10' disc and a 12 foot cultivator. I want a cheaper backup tractor like a 560 gas around 60 hp. I'm looking for so thin around $2500 can I get a 560 for that? I would love suggestions on tractors that would run around $2500 Thanks

Pretty good chance you can find an Oliver 1600 for that. Pretty good dependable old tractor.

At that price I think I'd be color blind and look at anything that meets your requirements. Stay with one of the major manufacturers (Case/IH/Ford, New Holland, or Agco- MF, AC and Oliver) Yes I left John Deere out- good tractors but at that price a John Deere is probably in pretty scary condition. Look more at condition-you want a tractor not a money pit. If you find a candidate research the model here, ask about the tractor here and search the postings on the board. Be aware the more popular tractors will have more posts because there are more out there and more folks using them. Example you don't see much about SAME tractors here, it's not because they're good it's because there are only about 6 left running in the US.

Keep checking Craigslist, or put your own wanted ad on there. You might find a large choice of 50 horse tractors for that money, as well as alot of good equipment deals.

I agree about being colorblind in that price range, though there are some good Deeres out there for cheap, my 4010 was $3500, and has needed very little in the way of repairs, though a bit bigger than you are looking for. If you do want another 560, and it makes sense because they are good tractors and having two of the same makes repairs and parts much easier to deal with, take your time and find a good one, even if you have to wait a bit to save more money.

Where are you located? I know an older farmer that has a 450 and two 560s (all are gas) for around that price.
