Round baler twine

I went to my NH dealer to buy some twine, since we have been blessed with some rain. Two months ago I bought some but didn't buy a large quantity since it had been fairly dry, paid about $29 a box- 2 rolls of 20,000 ft plastic twine 125# strength. Today the price for the same box $52. Asked parts guy to check price, thought sign might be misprint. No such luck $52 was the right price. So now I'm on the hunt for twine. I'm not paying $52 for a box of twine. Live in SE TX, what's the price of twine where you are?

Here (Ontario) 28000 ft round baler twine is around $36 and 9000 poly twine(sq. baler) is $25. Sisal has gone crazy though. $42 for 9000.

I haven't used plastic for probably close to 20 years and I STILL have that crap wrapped up in everything!
I buy 16,000 foot sisal. $39.95 a bale.

Around here baler twine has been the only thing the Orioles will make their nests of. They like all kinds and colors, and it appears from looking at all the multi colored nests they don't use the same nest twice.

Last stuff I got was from Orchalane (sp) and I payed $39.95 for it and that was early spring as in March or so. Got the natural stuff so it will go bye bye and not be a mess like the plastic stuff can be

rrlund , I am with you on the poly stuff . My brother used it onetime 20 yrs. ago and I still run across a piece now and then . Nieghbor bought alot of round bales with plastic twine and did not take it off , just set the bales out to be feed . Everything he has got it wraped all around it . Stopped in to see him one day he was plowing and he had a trail of the stuff 15 ft. behind the plow that you could nt fit in a 30 gal. drum . Last winter he got his foot tangled up in some that was half covered in manure fell and broke his arm .
