a few junkyard/auction pics

Few junkyard/auction pics for the fun of it.

I love the burned, old car... looks like it is going to eat something with its only remaining teeth (the fang looking things on the bumper).

I also love the square-dancin' tires in the meadow... or maybe they are standing round the water cooler gossiping. Not sure.

FYI if you didn"t know the burned out car is a 1949 or 50 ford and I also like the picture. As other have said you are good at what you do.

Like your pictures , would like to E mail with you. But every thing on the forum doesn t give your E mail address . John

WERE ORGINALLY FROM Missouri , BUT HAVE LIVED IN Az.. GOING ON 27 YEARS

IIRC the 49 and 50 had the single circle in the center like this one, and the 51, maybe 52 had the two smaller circles either side of center. 1950 was the only new car my folks had when farming. I was 6. They sold about $1300 of hay that summer to pay for it.

'49 and '50 had single circle in center (about the only visible difference in '49 and '50 was '50 had a push-button door handle); '51 grill opening was straight across, but grill had 2 bullets rather than one. '52 was completely different.

You may be correct, but what do you base your certainty on? The '51 twin-cone grill was its distinguishing feature, but the grill cavity was the same for all three years.

49&50 with single cone has indention in hood for that cone, 51 hood is flat across bottom.

It"s a 49 or 50...51 had two cones and no indent, 49 had an exposed gas cap, 50"s gas cap was under a fender flap...52 was an entirely redesigned body that was basic through 54...55 had the first wrap around windshield and no cones in the grill. 54 was the first OHV V8

Thanks for the education. Believe it or not, my first car was a '50 Ford, but somehow I had not picked up on that distinction. Never too late to learn, or to be wrong.

kornfused,

Thanks. It is just a fun hobby when I get the chance to do it (which is not all that frequently). But I take a lot of photos when I do find some good subject matter).

AzPeaPicker,
Thanks, glad you liked the pictures. I just post some once in awhile and ask questions or reply to posts, but I don't email.

ralph1111,
Thank you. I'm not a real photographer, just have a small digital camera. It would be nice to have one with a good zoom lens - but they cost a pretty penny.
