Rebuild 19 hp Briggs Twin?

Bought a lawn sweeper that came with a free Parts mower. Sweeper works great. Mower looks good except engine, it had both connecting rods broken and a cracked oil pan or block if they come together. Where to look for parts or just buy a used engine? Id love to rebuild but probly not worth $200 in parts. Just lookin for a project and maybe a profit nest spring.

In my neck of the woods riders with no deck are pretty cheap.
Cheaper than the used engine that's on them even.
I'd probably scout around and find one that runs, then transplant the engine.
The rest is scrap metal or CraigsList parts that could also get you a couple bucks back.

CL up here often has used engines for $100-$200,
seems some of the cheap lawnmowers don't last as
long as the engine and with the low price of the
bottom line units it doesn't take too much before
it's cheaper to buy a new mower than to fix the old
one, especially if you're in the back half of
summer or fall when Wal-mart and the big box boys
are looking to move the inventory out.

Put a wanted add on craigslist. There are many pressure washers, mowers and generators with good motors and it costs more to fix than to buy new.

I picked up a riding mower, 30 inch, the rear end was missing, bad rear end, for $30. It had a 10 hp engine, electric start. All I had to do was put gas and a battery to it and motor runs fine.

You can use searchtempest.com to search many craigslists for what you are looking for.
