got the new (used) tire on the old girl. most of the week was cleaning, repairing, and painting. got home from work this afternoon and got to it. I guess the hardest and scariest is inflating and setting the bead. now to put water in it.

Water? ya aint from around here are ya? lol Round here long bout mid October you'ld have a frozen ice chunk on the bottom of the tire with an air bubble on top. Would make fer an interestin ride to spread manure in the snow.

I have changed or repaired a lot of rear tires and never remove the rim. Its one of the jobs where I am happy when its done.

We always leave the rim on and never heard of putting calcium in a tire till I heard about it on this forum. It's different down South.

this is the first time I changed a tire on the ground. I took the rim off to repair and paint it. we use water down here. only problems I've encountered is heavy sweating after a cold front has passed and a warm front with heavy humidity comes back.

by taking the rim off the tractor you made a lot more work for yourself. Rim on the tractor is a lot easier.
