What's a fair price?

A fellow around here has a nice wagon with a bunch of school bus seats attached to the flat bed. I have borrowed it for the weekend as my son is getting married on Saturday. The plan is to haul the wedding party around town pulled by my John Deere A.

I want to reinburse the owner for the use of this rig, but he would not quote me a price. He just said, "Give me whatever you think it's worth!" What would be a fair price? I don't want to appear too cheap, as I may want to borrow it again, but I don't want to go overboard either. I'm thinking in the $25-$50 range. What are your thoughts?

He would probably really like to make a few bucks on the deal, but for insurance reasons he can't charge you ((Rent)) ..that would make him liable if someone got hurt.

So if you take it ((Borrow)) you are responsible.

How are you gonna get the locks changed so the boy can't get back in if you're driving the tractor around? lol Give him the 50.

That's pretty much what he implied. I'm leaning toward the 50 myself. That's probably what I'll do.
M-Man: I think my son in law is going to be doing the driving. So I'll have time to run home and change the locks! :D Seriously, they're welcome to stop back anytime. And I'm picking up two new granddaughters in the deal!!

Buy him a case of beer;take him and his wife out or
dinner....That will mean more than a pittance of
cash.

I do gift cards to a local resturant. If something on the wagon needs repair, tire or something, fix it for him.

You try taking my wife out to supper it's gonna cost a lot more than a new set of tires for my wagon.

Does he burn firewood? Give him a rack of hardwood. Or give him a gift certificate to a grocery store. Years ago I gave a guy some firewood for some ammo.
