Went for a long walk around the pasture at home and rode with me on the 4 wheeler checking fall calving cows. Then we hauled hay out to a couple pastures, he curled up on the floor board on the way home and is now sleeping like a rock on the kitchen floor. Thought you might enjoy. I enjoy how he likes to sleep at my feet.

Make sure the rest of the family gets some laptime with him so he don't think he only has to "work" for you... Looks like you got a buddy for a long time...

Look what can happen if you are not carful Trixie and Bernard her son. Bernard has his own swimming pool, He is the fifth generation of our cowdogs,Blue Heeler, Red Heeler, Austalian sephard, Border Collie. All were cow dogs ad companion or yhry did not stay.
Son took the orginal male back to Vermont when he worked for a large Dairy. he wsed him for heat detection as they walked through the stall in the morning he would point out the cow in heat. They can be trained all you have to do is be smarter rhan the dog. gitrib

His chin on your boot while taking a snooze is a great sign. My dog has done that since day one, a super friend and is more popular than me! I wish you many happy years with your little buddy! Congrats. Jake

Thanks for sharing your pics, our lab really loved playing in a kiddie pool in the summer also. I filled it up for Tin today and he got a drink or two but hasn't decided to get his feet wet yet.
