If someone has already mentioned this, I apologize, but I guess most of you folks know that we have a "Blue Moon" coming up Friday. So if you have any unfinished work, you can get on your TRACTOR and work by moonlight.

Well, Friday is also the 50th year of independence here in Trinidad and Tobago (West Indies) so expecting lots of celabrations with the daily rains. Now if I can just figure out a way to take this rain up to my place in northern Missouri in two weeks....
I work at night so hopefully will see the blue moon.

SweetFeet, I grew up hearing the expression, "Once in a Blue Moon", but no one ever explained just what it meant. I honestly didn't know just what it meant until a few years ago when two full moons occurred in the same month and they were talking about it on the local news. I was looking at the calendar the other day and realized that we had two full moons this month. And that only happens "once in a Blue Moon." LOL

Shadetree,

Same as you...my grandparents and parents said, "once in a blue moon" and I did not know what it meant either. I actually thought it pretty much meant NEVER - because I never saw a blue moon. Funny what kids think.

Hello ShadytreeRet,
A blue moon accures every 2.7 years, more or less. Now you know the rest of the story!HA!HA!
Guido.
