Drilling wheat

I finished drilling wheat about 3 hours before a storm hit. Wouldn't know it from the picture. Now all there is to do is clean up the drill and put stuff away for the year.

That brings back memories Paul.
Had a drill about like that one only with steel wheels. Pulled it behind JD 50.
The blue racers used to like to crawl up in our drill. Probably chasing mice.
Anyway, glad you got 'er done!

Good looking drill, i just got done drilling some barley and then wheat in another field. Used my JD FB-A drill that was rescued from the scrap man.

Hi Paul,
Thank"s for the pictures, brings back memeories from 1950,s. I think we live not far from one another. My e-mail is open, give me a bump when you can I would like to chat with you.
Thanks, Phil

Is that by chance a Superior drill that is the predesor to the Oliver Superior Drill? Have one on my to do list second in line for my machinery rebuilding for the Amish. Is the tractor a 41 or 42 model?

I have an old 10" Case drill and pull a 10" cultipacker behind it,have sowed oats, wheat and soybeans with it,does a great job!

Drill i s JD Van Brunt, 11 hole. When I bought it 22 years ago the original shipping papers were with it, but a mouse got them cause I wasn't smart enough to bring them into the house. The print date on the form was 1921. I had to do a lot of taking apart, cleaning and freeing things up at first, but not much since. It works fine. The tractor is a 1944 B model.
