electricity

Just talked with my buddy vacationing near Honolulu. Tractor connection- He's the lawn and garden tractor guru at the farm equipment dealership where I used to work. He sells about the same $ amount as the farm machinery end.
Anyhow- He doesn't want to come home! But he says electricity there is about $.36/kwh ! That's four times what it is here! And the coal fired plants around the Fingerlakes are being shut down.

Yep, everything in Hawaii is expensive, because pretty much everything has to be shipped there from somewhere else. And that includes fuel, of course, and I think most of Hawaii's power is generated by oil-fired plants. In contrast, here in the 48 electricity is practically free.

Hawaii is infested with green weenies in education, legal, hunting, firearms, energy, transportation and agriculture.
Everyone pays for their pie in the sky views they enforce on the poor ignorant common person.
Clean coal would be cheaper. Given the nature of the islands a nuclear plant would have to be ship mounted. Not a big deal , the Navy figured out how to do that 60 years ago.
