How to get rid of an old posting?

In September 2011 a member was looking for a owners manual for a compressor. I had one and offered to scan the manual and posted my email address in the thread for them to contact me so I could email it. Now I still inundated by people all over the world wanting a copy. I went to the thread and tried to edit my email address out of it and I get a message the editing period is exceeded so I can't do anything with it. Does anyone have an idea what to do?

reply to the original post with a highly political response, then report it, then the post magicaly goes POOF

I had a similar deal on an old Roto Hoe tiller, but I scanned it to a file and since my internet provider provides quite a bit of free storage, I posted it there and if anyone asks i just send them a link to the site

Kim and Chris removed a post I put out there years ago that caused a similar problem. Seems I had asked for a tiller part that I couldn't find anywhere and after that I was frequently receiving emails from other people looking for other parts for that tiller like I knew where to get them.
