Blue Man Group

To celebrate my younger brother"s 50th birthday, 17 members of our family went to see the Blue Man Group in Chicago on Saturday night. Took a big limo to haul us all. There"s one skit they do with an audience member, and they chose the woman sitting next to me, who happens to be my 77 year old mother. One of the funniest things I"ve ever seen. She was up there for 15 minutes or more in a skit where they eat Twinkies. When the mashed bananas spurted from her chest, she about lost it. Quite a memorable experience.

Tat show is a hoot. Last time I saw them was in 2001! Really must have been a lot of family fun there when Your Mom went onstage with them!

I have never seen them before, other than clips and stuff. I hear that they are great. Just Saturday some lady that I know mentioned them. Said she loved them, hoped to see them again. Good for you and yours. Glad you and your mother enjoyed them. Kind of supports what I've always heard about them.

Only live once, so should be as enjoyable as often as possible.

I never have seen them live, but I did catch part of a show on TV some years back. To me it was kind of odd but I've got to admit the music they made with the pipes, etc was really amazing.

Some years back during their post grad days my daughter Beth and longtime friend Annie were at the NY state fair and were just hanging out when this guy came along and asked if they wanted tickets to Brooks and Dunn. They took the tickets and went in. During the performance Ronnie and Kix were playing up the crowd and one of them commented about 4Hers, and asked were there 4H members in the crowd. Beth and Annie, (we took Annie and her lambs to all the fairs with us for years) waved their hands enthusiastically, and were noticed. So Kix challenged them to prove it by reciting the 4H pledge, and deathly shy Annie, and stammering Beth agreed. Kix had them brought up on the stage to introduce them and they recited the pledge strongly and clearly to tens of thousands.

toolz,
Great photos! What did your mom think of the music?

I saw the Blue Man Group once and it thought it a great performance.
