Here are a few pictures of the Farmall F-12 tractors working in the fields. These are good and neat pictures. The first few are of cultivating.

Farmall F-12 on Exhibition at Eastern States Exposition September 19-26 1937.

I'm not sure what state this was at.

John B.,
All neat pics - thanks for posting.

Love the dad and son on the F12. The F20 is realy neat - like the matching tire treads on front and back.

What is the thing attached to the side of the plow? Must be for breaking up clods - never seen a piece of equipment like that one.

I've always wanted to rig a clod buster up on my pull type two bottom plow but haven't yet.

I've got cultivators like those shown for my F14. I used it one year with steel wheels on the tractor. Dirt got on the inside of the steel rims and just stayed there creating a mini dust storm that followed you around the field. I found many reasons to dislike steel wheels that summer. Tractor now has rubber. I still use the cultivators occasionally. Gets old lifting them at each end of the field.

I'm sure today we could four times the corn off that field and bigger an better quality. My how things have changed on farming.

Dad bought his F 12 from one of the local farmers, back in the early 40's. The farmer's grand son came to our place to see his grandpa's tractor my Dad bought. He told the story when his grandpa first got the tractor delivered one of his sons was squriling aroung with the tractor, and flipped it. All that happened was the air cleaner was broken off. When the grandson was here a few months back to look at the tractor we checked the air cleaner, and found a broken bolt tab that haden't been replaced back then. Not very interesting, I guess but that's my story. The tractor is sitting where Dad parked it with the sickle bar mower still attached back in the 60's. No one in my family wants the F 12. I told the grandson he can have the tractor when the time comes, too keep it in his family. I guess I should give it to him now, but still have plans of restoring it. You have heard that story a million times, I know. Stan

Stan if it's been sitting since the 60's it's probably time for that grandson to have it while it's still just your decision.

There was an old wardrobe at my parents' house. My brother and his wife wanted it. I told my mom and dad to give it to them while you're still able to make that decision without any interference from others. My brother got the wardrobe and all is fine.

Figured it out!!!! The tractor is a " cutaway" to show the inner workings. The electric motor and gearbox on the floor rotated the engine and transmission so you could see how it operated. It was hooked up to the belt pulley.

They will get it while I can still make decisions. You need to see it as I do, Iam going to fix it up some time. Now I am beginning to sound like my brother and his trucks. Stan

Nice pics, although the second to last one is an F-30. You can tell by the height of the fuel tank and the width of the bull gear housings.
