I attempted to start my 02 E 450 v 10 today, and nothing happened. If this was my old chevy truck I could have had it running by now. So where do I start trouble shooting this thing? Any thoughts? Thanks Stan

When you say nothing happened I take it that it didn't crank over at all? Do you have any electrical item that works? Is it a stick shift or automatic? What I'm getting at I'm thinking something may of been left on and batteries are completely dead or thinking what else could be the cause. Just a couple of things that popped into my head without having any more information.

I should have said it did not fire, the engine cranked over good. So since I posted my problem, I shot a little starting fluid in the intake, and it started and stayed running, and re startes ok. I am at a loss now as what the problem is. This is my motorhome, and am leaving for a short trip in a couple days. Stan

Stan,

My '00 V-10 motor home just up and quit one day about 6 years ago. Cranked fine, but would not start. Got towed to a Ford garage and they finally looked at the mass airflow sensor. It was dirty...cleaned it and it's run fine ever since.

Stan, Thanks for the info. When I have mine runing I can take off the large tube from the air cleaner and the engine burps, and stopps, but restarts fine. I will check that sensor if I can locate it. What is it near? Thanks, Stan the other one

Stan,

I'm not near my motor home at the moment, but I remember them removing the large intake tube into the engine. I think it is maybe a wire inside there, but I'm not sure. My MH is a Class A, so it's easier to get to.

If you have not started it in a while, it is possible that the electric fuel pump needed to build up pressure before the engine would start to fire. You need to have pressure before the fuel injectors will spray right. Hope it continues to start right! Good luck!
