Mike (and any others)

You said you made it to Baders last Saturday and came home with a tractor. Wanted to ask you if they had a lot of smaller and older equipment on hand?

I didnt go because the first billing they published was all big equipment like 4x4 tractors and combines, heads and platforms that would likely sell in the $20K range.

Since I grow trees anything over 75hp is overkill, plus I tend to focus on the nursery auctions. I used to pick up all the old 6-8 row cultivators I could find and cut them down to sell the the food plot guys. The economy and the price of scrap steel ended that for the most part.

I didn't go,but they sent me the sale bill and I've gone before. I think the equipment was mostly big newer stuff that had been traded in.
For the knid of stuff you want, this one I've linked to is famous for that kind of thing.
It's coming up April 6th. Social event of the season around here.

I got thinking Rick, they have a spring consignment auction at the livestock sale barn across the road from Baders. They have a lot of smaller older stuff on that one. Only trouble is they don't advertise it real well. The only way I found out last year was that it was on the sign out front when I went with a load of cattle. I can let you know when it is IF I find out if you want me to.

There was very little smaller stuff on hand. Like Randy said lots of bigger stuff in the new to 15yr old range. They did allow some consignments and the tractor I bought was one of 2 older ones that were on hand. I wouldnt have bought it but knew where it came from and new it was mechanically in good shape. Lots of grain trucks this year. Must be a year for updating. Only smaller equipment that I saw was a couple plows.

OK,good to know. I went out to the north Monday too,but I didn't even think to look at the sign to see if it was posted yet.

Randy,

I put it on my calendar. If you remember drop me a line if you get more info.

I called Wiles on the quick attach, they bumped me back to my local dealer because I am out of their territory.
