Schuck Cushion Hitch Opinions

Looking at one of these. Think it's the RTR 750, or something like that. Combination cushion and telescoping quick hitch.
Have a crew cab 2500HD, and between the dark tint windows and the toolbox, it's almost impossible to get hitched up to a trailer quickly.
Any opinions on these? What is a good price for one?

I have one for 14 years and I like it. The only thing is that if you have a heavy tongue weight you have to back up and lock it before you put the full weight on it.

Price wise, check out their site, as you can buy directly from them.

I don't have any experience with the swivel hitches, which is what I believe you are talking about, but I put one of the cushion hitches on the bale buster I built last year. Currently it has over 200 hours of run time on it taking the constant beating from the New Holland square bailer hooked to it. I don't know of any towing application that would give one the constant beating this setup does. Given the hours and the severity of the beating the hitch I used is taking, it showed no signs of any damage when I was down there last week. That said, if they can all stand the abuse this one gets, they ought to last a lifetime, in normal use, on a tow vehicle.

I have the non swivel early model which I think is about 25 years old. I have overloaded it with tongue weight, and eventually rebuilt it about 5 years ago. They have a rebuild kit available.

About 15 years ago, I forked out for the cushion, swing and extension model. It has never failed, and at times we are pulling 20,000 lb loads with it. Excellent product, and easy to use.

I have the high dollar one. I think it was about $350 but I am sure they have gone up in price. The only drawback is the big one lowers your hitch height about 6". Just keep it inside when your not using it and keep the slide mech. lubed up good. I absolutely love mine!

I have one on my 2011 F250 because of the sensors in the bumper. I liked my DMI that I had on the F150. It pulled out further and had more spring cushion but is more costly.

You could save yourself a nice piece of change and buy a couple mate.Makes for easy hookup but no cushion action.
