Plowing? IAGary and others in Midwest

Got any Spring plowing done? Looks like you are having some warmer weather. 40 degrees here in SC and raining. Sleet and snow West of here. I like to get corn in the garden planted the last week in March but no possibility this year.

I saw a guy south of Iowa City running around the outside of a field with a field cultivator today.

Some working around fields in central Il. Saw one putting on anhydrous and heard another 25 miles south planting corn like crazy. It has only been in the 20's at night and finally made it to 60 for the first time all spring.

Except for my garden, my plowing is all done. Five food plots ready to disc and fertilize. Expect rain in the next few days.

Nope.

Still frost in the ground in places. North slopes and shady areas.

Will be 2 weeks before much corn goes in the ground here, maybe longer.

Doesn"t warm up much when it"s down to 25 at night.

I stayed at the weld shop to late this spring and need about 2 weeks to get machinery ready anyway.

Just think how easy life would be if we didn't have to service machinery.

I looked at the plow today, but still snow on the ground and no plowing gonna be going on for a few weeks yet. I gotta start getting equipment ready tomorrow, one job might be unhooking the plow from the 1855 from last fall.

Everyones full bore here. I have 1 more feild to disc the dry in but they haven't got it spread yet. Some will be planting on the 10th but I usually wait untill after the 15th.

Dug a test hole in the field today. Soil temp 40 degrees on top , 30 degrees 8 inches down.
So I came back and planted my new fruit tree bare root trees in 5 gallon containers and they are in the sun Porch. May just leave them there until June :) Porch gets up to 75 with no heat applied.

Checked a grass/hay field I want to disk up today. Don't think I can get a disk to penetrate yet. Probably a week out yet. Trees have yet to start budding out. (central Michigan)

Quite a lot of disking taking place here as well as some anhydrous rigs running. A couple of floaters with dry fertilizer spreaders went by just a few minutes ago. Haven't seen any planters yet.
