Son finished the planting of the garden. Now I hope it all makes up. He didn"t put in as many tomato plants as last year but did a whole passel of brocilli . Was wondering if all of you folks have your gardens planted yet? Last photo is the cherry tree starting to blossom.

Lou, where I'm at 50 Miles North of Brainerd, Mn we usually wait untill 1st weekend after memorial day to put out any plants, will probably seed carrots, potatos and corn this coming weekend. Would like to try broccoli sometime. Kids eat it like crazy!
Looking at the news, wondering if your near the Fire in Douglas County? I though your quite a ways South of Superior. We have a big one (fire) going about 30 miles from here. DNR, US Forest Service crews been rolling by my place on and off for 2 days.

tom, I will take a look at the fire, I'm on my way to the Vets in Superior on 22nd this month.I haven't heard about it.Were about 100 miles south of Superior,so maybe it wont travel this far, hope you dont get any by your place.
Our garden went in late compared to last year, we had it in by the first week in May,worked out real good,so good in fact the neighbors and friends were the recipient of the overflow.

got most of it all done. tomatoes went in last saturday. last sunday i planted about 100 or so hot and mild peppers. still have another 100 or so to go. kinda mis judged the peppers a little this year. had to till up another garden. got a free bag of huckleberries from the seed co. will have to put them along the edge of the woods.

Planted potatoes the first week of April. Had snow on them till end of april. They are starting to break through. Onions coming up also. Planted 12 rows sweet corn (1st batch) also green beans, pinto beans, kidney beans, carrots are in along with radish and lettuce. Hope to get the tomatoes and peppers out this weekend along with melons, pickles, pumpkins, and squash. Then another 18 rows sweet corn.

I'm just starting my planting. I have potatoes earlier in the week. Have broccoli and cabbage all ready to set out. Tomatoes will follow and hope to get beans and corn in tomorrow.

Only on this site can a man stare at naked hills of dirt and empty wire trellises, curl up the corners of his mouth in a wry smile, and everybody's okay with this!
