didn't know where to post this so i thought i would start here. Can anyone tell me what type of oil to put in the transmission of an old avery, model A avery? Thank you in advance for your help

Don't know about Avery in particular, but just about everything back in the day used 80-90 weight gear oil- I'd be surprised if it was anything else.

It would be 90 wt.(80 90) gear oil unless the transmission and hydraulics are combined, regardless of the make.
