Update on Cyclo 800 corn planter

Well thanks to the advise of Moline_guy I got my planter fixed, and for very little $$$.Added a pic of the hose I had to add to dump oil back in the tractor, from the orbital motor on the corn planter fan.The pump on the tractor runs it just fine. Once again , lots of know how out there on YT, and all you have to do is ask, Thanks gain. Bruce

That's good news. There is indeed a wealth of knowledge on this site.
It looks like overkill with a front assist tractor on that planter, but here in Northwest Iowa a few farmers are doing just that out of desperation to get the beans planted. One guy I know is pulling a Deere 7200 12 row with a big front assist with the front wheels disengaged. When he comes to a soft spot and starts spinning he stops, engages the front assist and backs out. He hasn't been stuck yet. Jim
 
I once had pump problems on an IH planter and enough metal fines went through the hyd. fan motor that it would not make enough air pressure. Looks like yours is working, just something to watch out for.
 
You are right fixerupper, don't really need 4wd on this planter,more of a case of use what you have. I only plant around 80-100 acres of corn each year,and this is all the planter that I want to give shed space to. Bruce
 
I pulled a six row 30" planter with a 135 HP tractor for several years. Before that it was pulled by a 35 HP tractor so I jumped jumped up a bit in the horsepower category. Jim
