Found a video online taken from a plane flying over me.

I remember the plane flying over me last year, doing all kinds of crazy tight turns. I had no idea they were video taping, and planning to put it on the internet as a fractivist video.

at 19:30 in the video, in the top middle, I am at the barn taking a tarp off a wagon load of square bales. I have a very hard time seeing myself in the video, but, I was staring at the plane, wondering what they were doing.

Oh well, at least they got some nice aerial imagery of the corn and hay fields I had there last year.

You can first see the corn fields at 2:00 in the video. The ground across the road from the corn fields is all stripped in corn and hay for this year. At 19:30, the farm yard comes back into the video, and at 20:38 the farm comes back in on the right side, and you can see the whole piece in strips of corn and hay until about 20:56 in the video.

It looks pretty good from the air! This was taken last July 1st, after 5 weeks without a drop of rain. The corn is nice and dark green. It was about 16 inches high at the time. The farm yielded around 180 bpa last year. Not bad for a drought.

There were a few years that planes from the midwest would
come down here and take farm pics. A few weeks later a guy
would show up at your door wanting to sell you a picture of your
place.

The last time it happened I looked real close and saw myself on
the roof. Additionally, the wife was in a swing on the porch.

I told the guy that I knew when the plane flew over to take that
picture; barn stormed my house, under 500' mins, no markings
on the plane............get your !!@#$# off my porch and off my
property before I get my shotgun!

There are companies that are doing aerial mapings of many areas. Example, for EMS services (or whomever else will pay for the data.) Son's best friend flew for them a couple summers. Load up a small plane with cameras, computers - fly over an area, move over a couple hundred feet, fly back... grid pattern. Send hard drives to company every night. His biggest complaint was getting buzzed by airforce flyboys. (He's in the AF himself, now - flying air tankers.)

I don't think they do those aerial photography things anymore. The plane is too expensive and everyone is so sensitive about privacy these days...

That youtube video, you can probably sue to have it removed especially if they are showing ads during it.

ur local tax appraisal district sure does!

They do it all the time here. I get an average of
2-3 different companies that come around at least
once a year selling pictures. They usually come
within two weeks of the picture being taken as I can
always identify the day it was taken by where stuff
is parked in the yard.

good point! I'm still impressed that I haven't found any farmer taking a leak behind his tractor tire out in the field on google maps yet. I would have figured I would be the first!
