I couldn't believe my 5 year old said this...

We were away 2 1/2 days for the holidays and I was at the computer catching up on tractor talk when my 5 year old son came in the room and asked, "Can I please go outside and weed the garden?" You bet I was off the chair in a flash to go help, I sure didn't want to discourage him.

That would be a great start, encourage him all you can!

I remember times like that. But my Grandma wouldn't let me weed the corn cause to me, the grass and corn looked alike.

asked my boys, 8 10 and 12 to pull weeds out of the sweet corn(and not fight). Got home at 4:30 after work and could instantly tell they did more fightin than weedin. Bout a third of the corn was knocked flat from where they were out there pushing and shovin and arguing about who was pulling the most weeds. They weren't real happy after I made im weed the rest of the garden, mow the grass, do the dishes, laundry, feed the steers, and then go to bed early. I rather enjoyed it though
