Baler problem

Have a NH 849 round baler. My second season to use it. No major problems until now. Had to replace a roller on the pickup mechanism. Now I can bale about one bale then the shear pin on the pickup shears. Had it apart 2 more times but cannot find the problem. Any suggestions appreciated. (Put this on the Oliver forum first when I intended to put it here.)

I am assuming you are talking about the pickup reel bars that the tines are bolted to. Have you checked the rollers that ride in the cam track, and the cam track itself? I have a Hesston midsize that takes out the bearings on both ends of the tine bars every two years and jams things up. It uses a clutch instead of shear bolts. About the only thing I can think of right now.

All the other rollers spin freely. I cannot feel any problem with the track. That's what is so frustrating. Thanks for the idea but I checked all the other rollers when I had it apart the first time.

my nh 855 baler has a shearpin on the pickup, shears when the bale is too large, to not damage the baler. the pickup stops so you cant run anymore hay in it

When you replaced the cam roller did you have the arm that roller attaches to aimed in the correct direction so that the teeth will approach hay windrow correctly??
