Anybody scrapped stainless in the past week?

Wondering if anyone has scrapped stainless in the
past week, perticularly in New York/ Pa regional
area. What is prepared bringing a pound now?

I've got a 500 gallon stainless milk bulk tank they won't even take.They say it's to hard to work with.

My scrap man told me yesterday it was in the tank. 48 cents for non magnetic. He suggested I hang on to it.

Sell it to the Amish for Maple sap. One i know paid 500.00 for one a year ago.

I just got off the phone with Weitsman's and non-magnetic stainless is currently $.47 per lb. at about 1,000 lbs. prepared. Short steel is $.12 per lb. or $245 per ton. Really sad, I scrapped 900 lbs. of stainless 4 years ago and got $.90 per lb. Wish I had scrapped everything I had then!

Ray, think you are close to me. The Amish I deal with one has a tank set up for roof water for garden. Think I might be able to have a market for yours. Wapak.

By all means sell it to the sappers. They are paying big money for them around here.
