JD 2940 HYDRAULIC FITTING LEAK

I have a JD 2940, 82hp diesel. I love this tractor-never a problem. I ran the brush hog about 2 hours the other day. As I was returning to the barn Hydraulic fluid began to shoot out of the right front side of the tractor. I traced the leak to a fitting that comes off the right side of the hydraulic pump. The JD parts guys said there is a rubber O ring in there that blows out. There is a steel tube about ¾ inch that runs from this fitting to the back of the tractor. The fluid was leaking under pressure from the bottom of this fitting. I backed off the nut that is flared into the tube. I cannot get the male fitting out of the case of the hydraulic pump. to check it or to replace the O ring. The steel tube has no play and the tolerances are so close that I can’t even pry it towards the fitting enough to put it back together like it was before the leak.

1-it there a web sight that I can access to get a diagram of the hydraulic pump and these fittings.---I saw the one at the JD place but would like to have it here at the farm for reference.
2-I obviously don’t know the tricks to making what seems to be a simple repair-replacing a $2 O ring.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. I plan to sell the tractor when the farm sells and I need to get it running.

Thanks

Cant help on the 'how to'. But our JD dealer can print any list/drawing,etc right from his computer and hand it to you.

You can look up and print out parts breakdowns at the site linked below. It"s NOT necessary to be signed up to do this, but signing up gives you access to pricing and availability at a nearby dealer.

Have you considered loosening the hyd pump mounting bolts to allow pump enough movement to remove 90% fitting to replace the o-ring?

Thanks for the diagrams. The fitting I'm having trouble with is labeled number 6-I assume the O ring shown as number 5 is the problem. I'll look into loosening the mounting bolts and see if I can get to it ay better that way. Any other suggestions would be helpfull too
