My neighbor came by last night and ask if I would help move a couple of tractors this morning. When I get over there this morning his Allis 180 and John Deere 8300 grain drill had ran into his grain truck. He went to jump the tractor off and it started in gear running over his back. He said the worse thing was when the drill came over him and the drag pipe behind it hit him in the head. His hired hand pulled him away ask it was making the 2nd round. No broken bones and was released from the hospital this afternoon. He did have some spaced out 7 inch cuts though.
 
He was very lucky he was not killed. Years ago when I was Fire Chief, we had a call for a man runover by a baler. Upon arrival the victim was under the baler pickup. His brother had shut the tractor off. The baler pickup tines had ripped his back open and poked him full of holes. Needless to say he was dead. I can"t remember exactly what took place, but the tractor moved while he was in front of the baler.
 
Wait til that crop of winter wheat starts to sprout every 7", it"ll really itch... [sorry, couldn"t resist..][I know it"s serious.]
 
IIRC, there's a safety switch on the clutch of that tractor. I wonder what happened to it?
 
Hard to believe he got ran over with a 180 AC plus a grain drill and lived to tell about it. I remember when I was a kid dad had the Farmall H in a hog pen, accidentally ran over a half grown about 100 pound pig. The pig kicked out its last on the spot.
 
Man in darlington 91 ? Just passed away ran over by tractor last friday bad day in this town 3 med flights in one day going to miss irv hope the guy upstairs has a golf course at least he died doing what he enjoyed being on the farm
 
Few weeks ago a farmer next town over was killed. Jump started his tractor with a screw driver, it was in gear also, ran over him, he wasn't as lucky.
 
The few times I forgot and left my old tractor in gear that was the time they started INSTANTLY !
Strange how much faster they seemed to start up ?
