Wife and I just got home from some really great music at out local Elks Lodge by a local group. Just can't get that kind of entertainment anywhere but in small town America. Just the best!

Know what you mean. Wife & I attended a local gathering of musicians last nite at a side room off the Library. Musicians outnumbered the audience & almost nobody was under 70 yrs old. Country. bluegrass & gospel mixture with several songs written, played & sung by the songwriters (this is near Nashville). We left after hour & half & it was still going on. Talked to local guy that knew the former owner of my farm. Great!

I hear you there.
At my church a few years back was a guy that is a great guitar player and the band at the church is good. But.....as things play out, the "band leader" pizzed off the guitar player guy and he now goes to another church........Oh well.

some folks around here just asked friends and future friends to come over and bring your instrument to jam. country, bluegrass, gospel, what ever, grew into a once a year featival that many towns people attend 2 1/2 day event. Jam once a month all winter in a local comunity building. There are a few bands that formed from it. you never know until you try.

our county library has open mike session once a month, its free and you never know what ,,some talented youngters ,some old people trying,,,,(me and a few other old guys) Its a lot of fun, much better than tv!

Where's is this at, Flying H? This is exactly what I'd like to see happen in our community. Folks just getting together consistently who love music.

I pick nearly every Wednesday up at the McDonalds in Eldon. Here lately, it's been standing room only
