Can't post any replies

Have tried to post several replies on existing posts - everything goes OK until I punch "post reply," and it doesn't show up.

I see your reply to RRLund's Food and Drink post.

And it showed up 3 times to Ivan in MI

I can post them,I just haven't been able to see replies to posts unless I click on each reply separate in Classic. Until now. In fact,when I got on a few miniutes ago there were about half a dozen fewer posts than there are right now. I went to the Oliver forum and came back and there they all were.

Something is up... I also posted a reply and it did not show up. But if you hit the "refresh" button up in your browser bar, then your reply will show up.

This was happening a week or so ago too.

And I have been noticing double posts again too.

I posted a reply on the oliver site and it posted 4 times because I submitted 4 times because it didn't seem to be working but it was. cccchuck

I've had trouble for 3 months. If I want to post a reply, I need to close this site when "Submit reply" shows up. Also have trouble viewing posts. I need 3 windows open so one post will load while i read another.

I'm haveing the same problem today.They showed up later....

Today's problems with posting were due to 5 restarts of the web server. We found the problem and don't think it will continue.

Many of the other problems stemmed from a disk error the Thursday before last and some hangs we had after that. When the system hangs or even gets slow, you get double posts. Some of the hangs were actually much worse than that this weekend. We think those are fixed too.

There is one post in here about the site being so slow that multiple browser windows are needed so one can be loading while the other is read. This is a very odd network problem which probably relates to an ISP with a compression scheme. There is nothing we can do about that.

All that said, we see the performance going downward with more traffic and with our servers getting older. These are actually only from 2009 and 2010, but the computer world seems to move fast. Kim and I are talking about replacing them with a couple of very fast current machines. The current offerings are anywhere from 10 to 100 times faster than the machines we currently have (depending on the task). Oddly, they are cheaper too, but still too significant to do it without thinking it through. So that is in the talking phase.

The network is going to be upgraded just because the phone company is forcing us onto their fiber. That should give 4 times the bandwidth. That should happen in 60 to 90 days.
