Anyone narrowed up a G to 30 inch rows?

Specs say 36 to ---

Possible fabricate 3 inch spacers and longer bolts for the rears to move the wheels in and drill some new holes from the front?

Don't have one yet but thinking about getting one so I'm looking for issues up front

I'd say you got it figgered out...Saw a H Farmall once that was 44" for sugar beets.was done just as you describe.I have also seen a number of IH/JD- other wide fronts 'cut' down to 44".

Must be you have another tractor , say two row that you plant 30" rows with, Just was wonder why you would use a one row tractor to do what in the 30" rows?

Looking to plant sweet corn on 30inch rows with a cub cadet and brinly corn planter

Could go with 40 inch or so rows and cultivate between with a narrowed up cub cadet. But what a waste of space

Rather keep it tight and have groups of 3 rows instead of 2. Better for the corn

Could you go out to 60 inches and straddle two rows? You could still set it up for 1 row, you'd just need to straddle the same pass twice. I'm not sure why you'd do this, but I'd think the engine and fenders would prevent it going narrower.

You might have clearance issues with the rear cultivator lever, also if you have never owned a G
you'll find it to be severely under powered there are a couple tractors that have been built that are very similar to a G but have hydrostatic drive and hydraulics that make it a lot more user friendly. The Hines H-1600 built in the early 80's was a good one and currently a tractor being built by Tuff Trac is similar to a G its a real neat unit. Also unless your space is limited the corn will grow better if given additional space especially if it turns off dry.

30" rows would be pretty hard to pick by hand...I plant on 44" rows and it is still tight for pushing a wheel barrow through. Corn roots will reach well beyond a 2 foot radius, so you are not wasting space. I use a G that is narrowed up to 36" and the tires just about hit the fenders, so that would be another problem. Power isn't a problem if they are running right.
