Can anyone tell me why a 3045 belarus will only move very slow when temp gets cold 15 degrees. Where do you check the oil level in the transmission. Loader and powersteering work fine as does the 3point hitch. This is not my tractor and I know nothing about Belarus tractors. Thanks for any info

Hi
Thats a 2 cyl air cooled if I"m correct in my thinking.
you say it drives slow when cold. In warm weather this means it drives normal meaning you change revs in a gear and it gets faster.
In cold weather in same gear you change revs it doesn"t get faster?
My guess would be that the transmission and hubs,Have 80/90 gear oil in as they should.
It may have water contamination in, and starts to freeze causing drag in the gears/ making it drive harder, possibly the clutch is slipping to causing the loss of drive. It could be a combination of both .
It"s a full mechanical drive line so somethings not right there with either oil or clutch if cold affects it.

From what I can see in my book (Poor photo copy), there is a pump on the right side of the transmission, that has a disconnect lever on. the fill/ check plug is on the transmission casting between that pump and the rear axle housing.
Book says stop tractor put brakes on, fill oil level to lower or near lower edge of hole, with tractor on level ground.
The hydraulics and power steering if fitted all work good because it is a lighter oil and from a seperate tank. It does not draw this oil from the main trans casing like most modern tractors do.
